Anti-Microbial Solutions LLC (AMS) was founded four years ago to develop a new type of anti-microbial technology that could be placed in more products, making them safer for use in a bacterial and fungi growing world.
In order to explain how our AMS Technology works, it is necessary to understand what anti-microbials are and how they work. Anti-microbial is a broad term that refers to any compound, including antibiotics, sanitizers, disinfectants, a number of food preservatives and other substances that acts to inhibit the growth of or kill microorganisms. The AMS Technology kills bacteria by inhibiting the growth of microorganisms by using an electro-chemical mode of action to penetrate and disrupt their cell walls. When the cell walls are penetrated, leakage of metabolites occurs and other cell functions are disabled, thereby preventing the microorganism from functioning or reproducing. In terms of the effect against fungi, the antifungal agent depolarizes the membrane electro-potential and inhibits the cell from splitting under mitosis.
Another component of AMS Technology is the introduction of a naturally occurring food grade substance found in nature, thus providing a “green” technology that is so popular today. This interaction between the AMS EPA Registered ingredients will hold microbes in place while the antimicrobial agent kills the microorganism.
The Anti-Microbial Solutions LLC (AMS) Research and Development Team has taken extraordinary measures to make our technology protective against MRSA, Staph, Strep, E-Coli, Fungi and all Gram Positive and Gram Negative Bacteria including very impressive results against Fungi including Black Mold. All test results showed excellent efficacy against bacteria and fungi. In comparison to other anti-microbial treated items, our technology is more effective because the AMS Technology improves the efficacy of the anti-microbial, making it more efficient.
AMS Anti-Microbial Technology…
- is the cost-effective agent proven highly successful at preventing future growth of E. Coli, listeria, MRSA, salmonella, staph, strep, many other gram positive, gram negative bacteria and certain harmful fungi including athletes foot fungus.
- Uses EPA Registered Anti-Microbial Agents
- Is Non-Carcinogenic – Non-Allergenic
- Is a proprietary technology
The AMS Technology offers new ways of integrating anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties into more products than may have been available in the past. For instance, disposable Vinyl gloves is one of the first products AMS Technology was developed and adapted for use.
In the past, an anti-microbial technology existed that was applied to the glove post manufacture. Though it was beneficial for the first touch, after that, the anti-microbial value was compromised.
AMS’s United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Registered Ingredients are now added into the plasticizer at the compounding stage and applied as the glove formers (hand molds) dip into the solution. Thus, AMS has developed a technology that is “built-in”, actually embodied in the substrate, inside and out and permeates through the whole structure. This allows a consistent integrated technology that stays in the glove throughout its life span. In this case, AMS is not a coating.
We should also note that the AMS Technology anti-microbial protection does not extend beyond the glove, does not prevent disease and is not a replacement for good hand hygiene.
The AMS Technology is unique in that it is not a coating in most applications. Wherever possible, our technology is built into the product and protects from the inside and outside
This is only one of the infinite anti-microbial / anti-fungal applications and adaptations of our technology.
Various other products are under development in the textile world and numerous other base formulations are being developed for other materials and products.
AMS may be able to integrate our anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties in your products. Interested parties should contact AMS.
